Breeding domestic cats
I have a domestic shorthaired cat and I was wondering if it is worth breeding or charging a fee for breeding?

RE: Breeding domestic cats
I would not have thought that anyone would want to pay to breed for a DSH as there are quite a few cats out there and many roam the streets and its such a generic breed and most cat breeders own both parents, so i dont htink anyone would want to pay.

RE: Breeding domestic cats
Sorry but I can not see why anyone would pay to mate with your non-pedigree cat. It just wont happen!

I don't think anyone would pay either, with many strays on the streets still, breeding DSH's would be viable.

RE: Breeding domestic cats
If your cat is gorgeous I can see why you would consider breeding but I agree with the others, I can't see anyone paying a fee.

RE: Breeding domestic cats
I agree with the other posts.
Why would you want to add to the problem of unwanted kittens.
I breed Bengals, and I can assure you kittens may be cute but they are hard work and can cost you a lot of money.

If you want to breed cats buy a pedigree on the active register.
You will then be able to sell to people who really want a kitten.
BUT don't expect to make lots of money. LOL

I also feel that you should for sure ask for some money. It doesn't have to be loads but you don't want to go broke when you are trying to breed them.
