Let me know how you get on with the Fat Boy as I might get one as well (I have the exact same fence problem as you).

I sent for the Fat Boy and received it the other day. Must admit when I opened the box I was surprised how big it actually was, but having said that it is brilliant. I have wedged the base between the wall and a chair and it doesn't move at all. Both my cats are using it and it hasn't tipped on them once! Thanks again for the info, I'm really glad I sent for it.

RE: Cat scratch posts
Well. I've had to buy a Fat Boy today because this morning one of my cats ripped the old scratching post right out of it's base. I knew how big they were as there is one in the shop I bought it from but carrying the thing and putting it in the car I realised exactly how big it is. It now dominates the room and I'm just trying to get the cats used to it.

Because the rope is new they're still a little uncomfortable with it but once it's been worn in a little then furniture, carpets, fence posts, fences and legs will be safe againWink.

RE: Cat scratch posts
We have one scratching post and two kitty condo's. I need to soon replace the scratching post. For $20 it lasted about two and half years plus it's been used by four cats on a regular basics so I guess I got my money's worth. It's just sort of falling apart but in the mean time they can scratch on their condo's!
