Finally after three weeks, we got a call, from around 6 miles away,
cat fitting our photo on this website, meowing loudly by a recycling centre, near an industrial area.
Many thanks to the family that called, and took him to their house and sent a photo via the internet.
Without their help, and this site(they got my phone no. from it)
we would never of found him that far away. His collar had gone too, which is very strange (fastened very securely, stretchy, but only removable by adults really)

We had almost given up hope, we'd had quite a lot of phonecalls re ginger cat's/ moggys, some close to his description, we have been out at dawn, and dusk, walking closer to ours and sighted areas, even I.D. unfortunately a dead railway vicitm, which was very upsetting, not ours,but someone elses pet.

Anyway we have him back, which we still can't believe, a bit worse for wear, and obviously starving (he was a skinny cat to begin with)
and he's got a check-up booked tomorrow at the vets.

This is great news. It's refreshing to know that there are kind people out there who will go out of their way to help.

yep i met several people who go out of their ways to feed strays too.
and look out for cats in distress.
